For horses and other larger animals, specific types of woven field fencing are required. The sturdiness is measured by its wire gauge and by how the wires are secured together. They are fabricated to be strong enough to withstand large animals pushing against it and gentle enough that they don’t injure themselves. Deer and other wildlife fencing is often six feet or higher and features graduated grid sizing, with tighter grid squares at the bottom intended to keep smaller animals from scurrying through low to the ground and wider squares at the top.
